In this workshop by Jin and Jeanne, we learned a lot about storytelling. They created the persona of Basil Müller, which we had to use to create a user story and present it. We had to build a story on how this cocktail shake can be sold to the audience group of Basil. I had to present the story, that my group built. I’m not that good at telling stories so this was kind of a nice opportunity to get out of my comfort zone.
Now to the topic of storytelling. Here are the most important notes that I took from Jeanne and Jin’s presentation:
Stories hold a lot of power in this society, they have a lot of influence on how we view the world. An example for this would be propaganda. I’m kind of very careful if it comes to how much I believe stories, that people tell me, because I’m strongly aware, that my perspective or the teller’s perspective aren’t the only ones. A question, that also comes to my mind is, how do biases influence the stories that I tell or the stories that I get told? Because in the end, it’s uninevitable, that we get influenced or biased in some way.
